I decided to go ahead and make my own cabin bar/inner support bar today. I have it all done but it is still unpainted. If anyone would like the dimensions of my bar I would be glad to list em.
I Have been contemplating weather or not to make a few and see if i could make a couple bucks. I think the guy from TeamSolCal was selling his for around 110-125. This is crazy since it cost me about 10 bucks for the metal.
I would put pics up but i cant figure out how to transfer pics from my camera folder to things like this and E-bay.

I might be interested if you get enough requests to do a batch. What I would really be interested in, and have been contemplating fabbing myself as a project to learn welding, is a custom frame to replace the targa with two bike holders. I would basically make an open frame that uses the targa locking mechanism to help stiffen the body but leave the cabin open and allow me to bolt/weld two bike mounts to it. Too many chores and projects on my plate right now to learn to weld.

Anyone with welding skills want to have a go at it? I'll buy the materials and beer.

bike rack on a sol . buy a 4runner for your bike needs!!! haha...what i actually would like to see is sol that has a permanent hard top and has vertually "shaved" the targa. why? just for better rigidity. the hard part is making sure that the chassis sits straight and not crooked upon welding the top together.

I been thinking about that myself acctually. Would it make the car stronger in some way and if you would have to think about taking a corner and cracking the body filler that you used to fill the welded area.

If you engineer the frame proportions correctly and made good welds (ala Cannondale), there should be no flexing of the targa frame and you wouldn't need filler in the weld joints.

I want the rigidity of a targa to reduce body flex but I still want the open top since I don't have AC like Geo and Thomas. The bike carrier addition would be cheaper than a 4runner too.

The cabin bar I saw was primarily used for anchoring a racing harness. Not something I'm particularly interested in at this point. Two wheel 'racing' is a lot cheaper at this time...until the doctor needs a new boat.

As far as sealing the top of a sol, it would be on a track ONLY sol. I couldn't bare to even PONDER sealing the top of m y sol i'm currently driving. the targa is one of the top things that sets us apart from most other modified hondas.
